I had such a great time taking Vicky and Scott’s engagement photos at the end of February. This was my first photo shoot of the year and I was so happy to kick my 2025 photo shoots off with an engagement session with a such a fun couple!

With their wedding in Lawrence coming up QUICKLY (seriously – how does time move so fast?) Vicky really wanted to get this session done as soon as we could. We planned for the end of February and I spent most of the month obsessively checking the weather. When we had the freezing cold snap here in the midwest, I was so nervous that we were all going to freeze and be miserable. Ya’ll, we could NOT have gotten luckier! The weather turned a few days before their photo shoot and we were blessed with a bluebird sky and 50+ degree weather for most of the afternoon.

It was such a blast capturing their love in such a meaningful location for them. They love spending time together at the lake in the summer paddle boarding and just hanging out together (and with their pups!). It really was the perfect place for their photos. We listened to a fun playlist, laughed our tails off, and got some incredible shots that really capture their love and connection. I love engagement sessions so much because we really get to capture your relationship with romance, intimacy and joy. I love being able to be a part of moments like these and help couples create memories that will last a lifetime!
